About Kirsten Brooks

I am an academic, artist, spiritual seeker and healer, bringing to those who choose to work alongside me over twenty five years of expertise, hard won wisdom and heart. The breadth of my journey and my work has centered around the understanding, creation, expression and manifestation of living mythology through ritual, academic exploration, healing and storytelling. I am a creator first and foremost with an artistic, spiritual and anthropological background that infuses all that I do. My studies as an academic focused around ritual and rites of passage, stories, symbology, and the arts as well as power, colonialism, political economics and culture. My years in the theatre as an actor, director and writer were ritualistic and experimental across genres. Much of my work as a spiritual person and healer is anchored within a framework of mythology, ritual and symbolism, rooted by a steadfast belief in the power of the holy depth of the human spirit. I have also been involved in the creation and running of many events from the theatre to festivals and various cultural events for twenty five years. I am a wedding commissioner and have been certified and working in various healing modalities for over two decades. I love to explore and have traveled to many sacred places on this Earth in order to continue the gathering of my working wisdom. I also hold a BA in Theatre, a BA honors in Anthropology from the University of Winnipeg and an MA in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Manitoba. Currently, I have just completed training in a certificate program for End of Life Doula care, a subject that I have been passionate about for many years.
